🚨Upgrading from 16.1.0 from 16.1.1

Your server is running FileWave 16.1.0 if you are seeing this notice. Please upgrade to FileWave 16.1.1 but ensure you continue reading this alert to understand how it will affect you if you have iOS/iPadOS 18.5+ devices. This issue does not affect versions other than 16.1.0 going to 16.1.1.

We have identified some important issues affecting app installation and removal on iOS 18.5+ devices due to changes in how Apple DDM is handled in this version. To address these, FileWave 16.1.1 will disable Apple DDM for iOS 18.5+. If you do not have iOS devices under management then you can disregard this alert.

We want to ensure a smooth transition and help you understand the impact.

  • Upgrading from 16.1.0 to 16.1.1 will change app installation from DDM back to MDM for iOS 18.5+.
  • As part of this change, any apps currently installed via FileWave Associations/Deployments or the FileWave Kiosk will be removed and re-installed. For Kiosk apps this means that the user would have to re-select the apps. Any local data in those apps not stored in the cloud may be lost during this process.
  • For hosted customers: Our support team will help schedule the upgrade to 16.1.1 on a day that works best for you.
  • For on-premise customers: Please upgrade as your normally would or schedule the upgrade with Support.

It is important to upgrade from 16.1.0 to 16.1.1. Please work with Support to address any questions or concerns before upgrading to FileWave 16.1.1.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to ensure the best experience for your organization.
