FileWave 16.1.1 introduces major enhancements to the FileWave Management Suite, with a focus on performance, scalability, and admin usability. Cloud-hosted customers benefit from a new HTTPS-based Fileset delivery system backed by a secure private CDN and Booster caching, significantly improving deployment speed and reliability. This release adds a built-in Release Dialog for timely update awareness, expanded Content Packs for compliance and security, unified Fileset reporting, and improved MDM command reliability across iPadOS. Support for advanced Apple DDM features, enhanced API capabilities, and backend performance gains such as PG Bouncer integration further strengthen FileWave’s position as a powerful, modern endpoint management platform built for complex environments.

🆕 Release Notifications Dialog

Stay informed without leaving FileWave. In 16.1, administrators will now see helpful release announcements directly within FileWave Central and Anywhere. These notifications appear at login or after upgrading, with concise summaries of new features, improvements, and key updates—plus direct links to learn more. Designed to be clear and unobtrusive, you can dismiss a message once it’s reviewed or simply close it to revisit later. It’s an easy way to stay current with what’s new in FileWave, right from the tools you use every day. Look forward to an even more refined experience in FileWave 16.2.0, coming later this summer.

💡 AI Chatbot, Now In-App

FileWave 16.1 introduces a new in-app button to access the AI Chatbot directly from Central and Anywhere, making it easier to get fast answers and guidance without leaving the interface. It’s the same trusted assistant from our Knowledge Base, now more accessible. If you prefer not to use the feature, it can be disabled in Preferences. The chatbot runs entirely in the cloud—no data is processed locally, ensuring your privacy and system performance are unaffected.

🍏 Apple Spring Release

FileWave 16.1 brings full support for Apple’s Spring 2025 platform updates, including tvOS 18.4, iPadOS, and iOS 18.5. Highlights include battery health reporting for iPadOS, and the ability to enforce beta program enrollment directly within DEP profiles. New MDM restrictions allow tighter control over Apple Intelligence features, default apps, Safari summaries, and Mail smart replies. Updates also include support for Apple’s new “Safety and Handling” DEP skip key, idle reboot automation, and expanded DDM visibility within FileWave Client Info. Account-Driven Enrollment is now enabled by default, simplifying domain association through Apple Business/School Manager without requiring manual DNS configuration. Lastly, we have added initial detection for macOS/iOS/tvOS 26 for those who are using it in beta.

🤖 Android 16 Day One Support

FileWave 16.1 proudly delivers day one support for Android 16, ensuring you can confidently manage and deploy to the latest Android devices the moment they’re available. As with any major OS release, unexpected changes may surface—so if you encounter any issues, our support team is ready to assist. We’re committed to providing timely updates and world-class support to keep your environment running smoothly on the newest Android platform.

🎒 Content Packs Integration

FileWave Central now features a streamlined interface for browsing and importing Content Packs—prebuilt compliance and security templates. Admins can quickly apply best practices and standards, simplifying reporting across all sizes of environment.

🚀 Optimized Booster Delivery for Hosted Customers

FileWave 16.1 introduces a major backend enhancement for hosted environments: Filesets are now distributed via a secure, private CDN and delivered to Boosters over HTTPS. This change enables efficient streaming, improves deployment performance, and reduces bandwidth and storage costs—benefits that directly enhance both FileWave’s scalability and the experience for our hosted customers. This feature will be enabled in phases so you may not notice it active immediately. For more details about our Hosted offering see the KB article here.
