Recovery steps are now available for FileWave Client on macOS systems affected by the code-signing certificate issue announced July 30.

FileWave software is not malicious, and this was not a broader security compromise. Other platforms are not affected.

Recovery instructions are now available

Corrected Client packages and a guided recovery procedure are available for supported FileWave Server 16.2.x, 16.3.x, and 16.4.x environments. The article explains how to prepare the package that matches your exact FileWave Server version and use the existing Apple MDM connection to recover affected Macs.

If your Server runs a version earlier than 16.2.x, contact FileWave Support before attempting recovery.

Get macOS systems back in order

Follow Technical Bulletin 2026-004: Recover FileWave Client on macOS. The steps are straightforward and do not require bypassing Gatekeeper or reducing macOS security settings.

FileWave Hosted customers should prepare the package as described in the article, then contact FileWave Support to complete the Server-side recovery steps.
